To begin with, growing up I knew I was never going to be popular. Being average looking, not buff, not rich, long wolly hair black and brown guy. My features were not desirable to the world. I knew I was not the Latino or Desi heart throbe character, that gets the hot girl and reward in the end, that receives everyones love and acceptance. I don't really look like either one of my parents, so it was hard because I felt I was treated harshly from them.
Next, I realized that I am not popular amongst family and peers, I decided to build myself up. Pour my own glass to the top, forget waiting around for someone to accommodate me. Not letting the popularity contest get to me was something I had to learn. I look in the mirror and I am enough. I dont need validation from no human in this realm, because I decided to not perticipate in the popularity contest and not subscribe to the superficalness of it all. When you are uplifted by your own will, intellect, and esteem that is all you need.
